If you have planned your holidays during the month of July or August there are some local festivals and parades not to be missed.HOTEL SS In Sassari, on August 14th you can watch I Candelieri, an incredible medieval parade through the old town, local resident wearing traditional costumes and carrying giant wooden candlesticks to celebrate the town's defeat of the plague. Similar to Il Palio in Siena, Ardia is an insanely dangerous horse-racing event celebrating some forgotten ancient battle and taking place every year on July 6th and 7th in Sedilo where riders race with really little care for their and others safety while the locals enjoy drinking and partying. Lazy sun bathing and swimming are definitely the main activities but if you are into sports this area is ideal to practise water sports pretty much every where along the coast where plenty of facilities are available.
